Overeaters Anonymous Takes On Food Addiction

Read news channel interview from OA Madison member here!

The OA Preamble

Overeaters Anonymous is a Fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope are recovering from compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology, or religious doctrine; we take no position on outside issues. Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive overeating and to carry this message of recovery to those who still suffer.

OA Program of Recovery

Overeaters Anonymous offers a program of recovery from compulsive overeating using the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions of OA. Worldwide meetings and other tools provide a fellowship of experience, strength and hope where members respect one another's anonymity. OA charges no dues or fees; it is self-supporting through member contributions. OA is not just about weight loss, obesity or diets; it addresses physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It is not a religious organization and does not promote any particular diet. To address weight loss, OA encourages members to develop a food plan with a health care professional and a sponsor. If you want to stop your compulsive eating, welcome to Overeaters Anonymous! Welcome Home!

Looking for a way to do service?

Some of the OA meetings are looking to have speakers come and share their experience, strength, and hope. We would like to get a list of speakers and then pass them onto the Intergroup's meetings, so the individual and the OA meeting can contact each other. Do you want to share your OA story? Please send your name and contact information to Larry.
